The aim of this website is to provide interested parties with information on the EU Twinning Project “Improved Court Expert System”.

 The trainings continued at the Samsun courthouse. The fields of law that were discussed were traffic cases and contractual cases. Judges,

Trainings at the pilot courts began at the Manisa courthouse. The focus of this first training session was traffic cases. This area was discussed with
the participation of judges, prosecutors, court experts, lawyers and representatives of professional chambers. (03.02-07.02.2014)



Civil and criminal law working groups were organised for the preparation of training materials and development of a comprehensive training concept.

The fourth Steering Committee Meeting of the project was held. (07.01.2014)

A study visit for judges and prosecutors working in the pilot provinces was organised where separate programmes for civil, criminal and administrative
law groups were prepared. The Administrative group also visited the federal administrative court of Germany in Leipzig (02.12-11.12.2013)

Conferences titled "Intellectual Property Rights and Court Experts" were organised in Istanbul and Ankara (11.11-15.11.2013)

The courts in Bursa, Çanakkale and Izmir were visited within the framework of the project (11.11.15.11.2013)

Conferences were held on the topic of "traffic cases and court experts" in Istanbul and Ankara. (07.10-11.10.2013)

The courts in Adana, Hatay and Mersin were visited within the framework of the project (23.09-27.09.2013)

Our German delegation organised an information visit to Samsun. The experts came together with high-level representatives from the Samsun Regional Administrative Court and the Samsun Administrative Court and discussed the court expert system in Turkey based on concrete case files.

Recent Activities

First Place in Poster Competition Organized by the EU Delegation to Turkey

Our project received the first place in the poster competition organized by the EU Delegation to Turkey within the scope of 9 May Europe Day celebrations.

Study Visit to Sweden – 27.05-31.05

The second study visit within our project was organized to take place in Sweden. Besides Stockholm, our high-level delegation also visited Linköping and Nacka and received valuable information on the court and court expert system in Sweden.

Second Study Visit to Germany – 22.04-26.04

The first study visit of our project was organized to Munich, Germany between 22-26 April with high-level participation from the Turkish side. Various meetings with high judges were organized and the Turkish delegation received information on the court expert system in Germany.

Second Crimanal Law Working Group

On 25-26 March the second working group on Criminal Law was organised with the participation of German experts. An exchange of opinions took place based on the comparative discussion of concrete case files.

Pilot Court Visit

Between 11-22 March 2013 the Turkish delegation together with experts from Germany visitied the five pilot courts located in İstanbul, Antalya, Manisa, Şanlıurfa and Samsun. The aim of the meetings held at the pilot courts was to raise awareness on the purposes of the twinning project and establish contacts with focal persons.

The Kick-off Meeting took place on 20.02.2012

The kick-off meeting of the EU Twinning Project “Improved Court Expert System” took place on 20.02.12 with the opening speeches of vice-Minister Mr VeysiKaynak, Head of the Delegation of the EU to Turkey, Ambassador H.E. Jean-Maurice Ripert, General Director of Civil Law Affairs and Turkey project leader Mr AyhanTosun, Germany project leader Mr Rainer Dopp, President of the Council of State Mr Hüseyin H.  Working Groups on Civil, Criminal and Administrative Law were successfully organised 

Within the framework of the first working group meetings the court expert systems in civil, criminal and administrative law in Turkey and Germany were discussed with the participation of high level officials from Turkey and 5 experts from Germany. Click here for pictures. 

 Visit to the Directorate-General of the Criminal Police Laboratory

The German expert group visited the Criminal Police Laboratory on 18.02.12 and received information on the work of the Laboratory which functions as official court expert especially in criminal cases in Turkey.
